      First visit
      Initial consultation and first impression

  • What Happens: The dental prosthetist will discuss your dental history, needs, and preferences. They will examine your mouth and teeth and may take some initial measurements. A preliminary impression is taken using a soft, moldable material. This impression is used to create a model of your mouth.

  • Purpose: To understand your specific requirements and plan the best approach for creating your denture. Also, the first impression is used for getting a rough idea of the shape and size of your mouth for creating a more accurate denture.

Second visits

Custom tray impression

  • What Happens: After the preliminary impression, a custom tray (a more precise mold) is created. You will then have a more detailed impression taken with this tray.

  • Purpose: To get an accurate and detailed mold of your mouth, which is crucial for fitting the denture perfectly.

Third visits

Wax try in

  • What Happens: A wax model of the denture is made based on your impressions. This model is used to check the fit, bite, and appearance of the denture. You may try this model in your mouth to ensure everything feels right.

  • Purpose: To make any necessary adjustments before the final denture is made, ensuring comfort and proper alignment.
